We'll start out from the Rupert Skytrain Station going to the PNE, here's a Google map:

Other Names of the PNE

The Pacific National Exhibition has "acquired" a number of names. Some of them are:

• Pne
• Playland
• Pacific Coliseum
• In the 1920's it was also called the Happy Land
• Vancouver Industrial Exhibition

Here's a brief history of this Playland:

• Since the 1910's, the playland exhibited Industrial and Agricultural events
• Was once used as a transit for some Japanese residents during the WWII relocations in BC
• The Wooden Roller Coaster which was constructed in the 1950's is still one of the most popular rides up to now in PNE.
• Once home of the BC Lions team

Events in the Pacific Coliseum

Tons of things do happen and are being hosted at the PNE, of course not just the rides, more popular events are:

• Concerts - all kinds of musical concerts by world famous artists. One of them is Willie Nelson.
• Sports - some examples are the games between the Vancouver Giants and some other teams. Figure skating, and others.
• Trade Shows - import and export events, car shows, etc.

Parking Tips

Parking at the Playland is across the street, and of course comes with a fee.
Some residential areas close to the Playland do "business" and rent their own garage or parking stalls which may be at lower fee than what the PNE offers.
Be aware that this can lower your parking budget but has some probable disadvantages, though.
Balance and learn the consequences or legalities, before you pull over those stalls. Sorry, I really don't know the parking legalities, this came by as a quick tip.
